Opps Paint, DONT be afraid to mix it up and give it a name!

Good day!  Happy you could visit, How many times have you wanted to buy quality paint for walls or furniture products and just can not swing those high priced tickets? My answer is to take advantage of the Opps paints that are available at most stores that mix paint for customers.

For example I was at my local Lowe's where they have a counter of Opps paints available. Prices vary from .50 to about 9.00 and that would be the gallon size. Saturday I picked up a charcoal color deck and cement paint with texture and I payed 9.00 and it sells on the counter for 35.00. This I will use on my porch. Not bad for a specialty paint.  In my area I have Lowe's, Home Depot, Ace Hardware and Walmart. If you have shopped paint you know that Ace brand paints are superior and the price proves it.

I love to hoard keep many paints on hand ,so when I visit these stores I grab what I can. Thank goodness I have a storage shed for this kind of stuff. It is well worth checking out your local stores. Opps paints can be a customer return because they decide they just don't like it or perhaps the store employee did not mix the color properly. One thing I must say I have bought some colors that I would have not thought about buying but ended up loving the color.

Remember my little red cabinet? Shes been around for a while and seen a lot. Today she is the little red cabinet that couldn't, so know she's the little "Vanilla Cupcake" cabinet that could.
No she is not a  cabinet that holds cupcakes that is just the name I gave this Opps paint. I have a stash of knobs so I chose ones with a bright hue.

"BAKERY SIGN", from an old piece of wood

Hi there summer funners! hopefully you are enjoying your summer at one point of the day, my favorite time is the evening , I so enjoy star gazing and a tall cool drink. Soooo,  I had this piece of old wood that was one part of a retired piece of furniture . So out came my paints etc.

Homemade vintage style signs are a great way to add some time to your decorated. They can be made with any old wood you have around your home. The best part it's some crafting fun.

Is there really a Sunrise Bakery? I doubt it but it's all in good fun! So why not pull out some old wood and join me in some signage!

A NEW LOOK FOR AN OLD FRIEND & A NEW HUGE BASKET TO ACCOMPANY IT!

Hi and welcome ! Happy you could stop on in.  Ive been changing stuff up and decided to give my table set a whole new lick of paint. I swapped the farm table set for the round pedestal table that I had out in the screen room .

I had given the chairs a little black brush here and there previously.

I had these cans of spray paint on hand so they would be perfect a country red and a very light green. Both paints are good for wood, plastic metal.

I used the green for the table and  red for the chairs.

SUMMER STORMY DAY FUN FOR ME!

Hi there, welcome to Sweet Tea N' Salty Air. Have you been enjoying your summer? Mine has been some what busy, seems like just when the yard is done its time to start over again. We have daily storms here in S.W. Florida so the rain keeps everything growing at a crazy rate and the tropical air adds to it.  So today I decided to do some kitchen tweeking, bake some blueberry muffins and sew some new kitchen curtains. This may seem like a lot of work for some but for me its "me" time and lots of fun! I picked up some new pieces of textiles from the thrift store so I decided to sew up some new kitchen curtains.
Just love plaids! how about you? Also checks as well!

I always love to have a bit of whimsy at the kitchen sink....I had this vintage wooden frame that was once the frame of a mirror, it fits perfectly around the small kitchen window that looks on to the screen room. My love of lights always holds strong couldn't help to hang a string over the window, also my teapot basket and an extra candle holder, after all a girls gotta have a little something nice to look at when she washes so many darn dishes!

I gave the old crock a rooster stenciling and some checks.

I am so enjoying looking at the vintage set from Del's thrift warehouse, I don't have anything in them yet but they sure are great eyecandy. I also took down the foil paper from my back splash you can see that on a former post. It came off pretty easy and the white tile is shining once again .....until I tire of it anyways. Del's can also be seen on a former post, they have so many nice things and they mail as well.

Found this wooden piece at the thrift store and decided to place it here for now, love the detail and 6.99 price tag too.
Time for a snack some homemade blueberry muffins...yum! I always love to sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar before baking.

I also sewed a shade for the door as well. Not bad 2 curtains for 1.99 , ya gotta love those thrift store new finds.

It has been so nice to have you in my kitchen today!
Have a great 4th of July Holiday!

Join me as I party with the best of inspirations!

DEL'S THRIFT WAREHOUSE, A WONDERFUL THRIFTERS PARADISE

Good day to you! Hope you are keeping cool with some great cool drinks and a swim or two. OK it might be reaching the high 90's here in South west Florida but it's never to hot to go to the thrift store! Here in Naples Del's Thrift Warehouse has everything and anything and at great prices. Some vintage ,some new and some just a little old. What I love about shopping here is that it has all kinds of tools to keep my hubby occupied while I ramble the warehouse. So put on some comfy shoes and lets check it out!

Oh and we have come at the right time..........it's clearance day !
Oh my I have my eye on this vintage drink holder. It looks like it would have been used by a worker in the coal mines to sooth their thirst, the top was used as a cup. Too cool!
These lovely chairs were once the seat of some very petite woman perhaps for tea or a game of afternoon checkers. Love the scroly wood work and the table feet a great set for a foyer or game room.
I just love old photography, now a days children don't were those fancy hats, I don't know whom this child is but I would love to hang her on my wall, so cute!

Love this iron detailed piece and notice the vintage bread box behind such a treasure!

This vintage clock is wonderful, would have loved to see the mantle that once was home for it! Isn't it funny that this old clock has seen midnight hundreds and hundreds of times but still looks so beautiful!
This vintage trunk caught my eye quick it has been done over from it's original state but the detail is still presented lovely . It has some box compartments that fit in so you can store things separately.
It sits just waiting for a new home. Things just don't sit too long here, everything is priced to sell and Joanne the very nice store keeper/owner is all ears when it comes to offers!

There are a wide assortment of vases and glassware. If your shelf is empty this is the place to come for some treasures.
A beautiful assortment of oil lamps sits on the shelf.
Isn't this the cutest little drop leaf table? If you follow my blog you know that's my obsession! I just love me some little tables!

Fishing poles, nets tackle etc.

This beautiful Cedar chest is waiting for that bride to be to fill it with treasures!
Chaise for total comfort ability!
Lamps and knick knacs

I just love vintage lace doilies!
 So unique!

DVDs etc.

Another little magazine table , so darn cute!

This is wonderful, the tray is set on a luggage rack type piece, this would be so handy to set up an instant bar or desert tray. When not in use just fold it away! Great idea for small spaces.
This whole sewing ensemble from the sewing books from the 40's to the.....
Singer machine it is in excellent shape and has been gently used for all these years. The seat stores all the sewing notions.
I am not sure  if it still sews but I would imagine so. Isn't she a beut?

This pic nic basket has metal handles and is in nice condition
 And on the level..............
A spinning wheel, a great decorative piece in a country home.
This is a gem of a piece, love the spindle dish rack.
And this vintage blue and white set Joanne allowed to come home with me....you all know how I love my blue and white. I could vision these sitting near a huge black iron stove.

If you are interested in any of the pieces that you have seen please call JoAnne@ 239-304-6037 or email her at www.jojostreasures.com. JoAnne also buys and trades. She is also willing to mail as well.
