Come join me at the garden......where I am using my new thrift store finds!.

Hi there so happy you could drop by.........so I had to get my thrift store fix so I snuck off the our local Goodwill and I am so happy I did, I found some cute things.

This cute little material lined basket came with 2 cute tea cups and saucers for 1.50 purple tags were 1/2 price  and as I was leaving I found this red matching tea pot in the glass case for 2.99
This is just the sweetest tablecloth that was handmade
Found this nice Yankee Candle wax warmer for 1.99
It was a good day for finding new material our local distributor  donates new material Love the Cherries

Also got this bolt of really thick nice material for making curtains in my teenage sons room. So lets go around back so I can share how I used these items. It has been constant work here at Sweet Tea  yesterday I power washed the back shed near the garden and also the cement patio, its there that I set up my iron garden set that was gifted to me from a really nice lady  I met through Craigs list.

I recently gave it a new spray coat .

I set up a little morning tea party ....

I crafted a couple of signs to add to the mix  and I really am a backyard farmer how about you?  Fun right  love getting my hands in the dirt. This will be a fun place to take a break when I am gardening.
Thanks so much for stopping on in    .......until next time    Lisa

THRIFTING, CRAFTED SIGN & WE ARE RAISING THE ROOF!!!

Welcome !  How are you enjoying the Spring and all it has to offer? So much to do but I have to admit Gardening is my favorite! Love to walk in the garden and pick fresh salad pickins.....a taste like no other. I have mentioned before that my very kind neighbor has a humongous Mango tree that bears enough fruit for all. We discovered Mango smoothies last season and they are to die for......super yummy!

It had been raining a few days ago so I decided to craft a new sign. With some paint and stencils I brought a tired piece of wood to life.

Stencils or free hand ....Signs are a great way to express any kind of décor.

I found this delightful basket just sitting on the shelf waiting for me to take it home....its very old ,It has signs of wear on the hinges and wicker. At first I thought it was a mini picnic basket but when I opened it up I saw it was a pie basket.
I can just imagine the scrumptious pies that sat on this removable little shelf. Pies to church suppers, family picnics etc... a good ole basket with a delicious past!

He was also sitting on the shelf waiting just for me lol......Hes a little carved rooster, so very cute..the rooster lover in me could not pass this up.

Only one of this but it was so beautiful , an Eastern China with 20k gold designing.

These two mini platters with beading were so pretty and only .99 each could not pass them up either.

Also found this beautiful French tablecloth, love it with its pretty design and light blue hues.

Also this wooden candle holder that I will paint ...I already have one similar so I will be painting them both to match and I will share that later.

Things are really growing well in the patio garden picked some wonderful radishes......
Here is the mini rose bush with a rose bloom
And here is the ripe lettuce that will join the salad tonight with some evoo and spices.

planted some herbs yesterday , thought I would try them in a pot this time. Actually I will put some in the garden as well, I am curious to see which will grow better.

So this is a huge playhouse that my son built for his daughter when they were living here so I thought since it was not going to be used for that I will do some renovating such as raising the roof and cutting a new doorway it can be my Potting shed!   I am a small person at 4ft 11in so this will be perfect for me so I will be working on that today and fri. I cant wait to share when I am done so do come back and see!

A very cool way to give white tile is just some decorative paper, this was a pretty drawer liner so I cut them to size and added them here and there. It packs a great decorative punch and you can change it out when ever you like I just used some painters tape jelly rolled in all 4 corners.

So happy you stopped on in today,
Lisa

Lisa's been out thrifting, pop on in and see whats new!

Hi there....so nice that you could stop by.The weather has been wonderful here, the type where all you want to do is garden, love digging and planting etc. Natalie and I have been working on a sitting/garden area. She has started the seeds for Tomatoes, peppers and sunflowers.

Natalie loves to garden and cook as well as craft and paint, this is a peek at what we are up to I will share this when we are done, Lowes is having a great sale on mulch 6 bags for 10$ and that includes all different kinds. Here we repurposed some heavy plastic by using it as a liner just poking holes so that the water could have a release during our rainy season but we will for sure not have to weed !

So we have gone out thrifting .....managed to find a few items

So I found this rooster for 2.99 @ Goodwill

found this Pyrex bowl @ Habitat For Humanity for .99 Love the dusty white cloudy surface reminds me of the striking Dusty Miller plant. I will use this for decorating. Cant help to wonder just how many pancake batters were mixed in here.....it certainly has seen its day but wears the badge of kitchen courage.
This was a GW find for 4.99, the little door does not open but it will be great for towels etc
These two bunnies were .99 each
This guy was made at ceramic class but they forgot to give him eyes, we'll fix that though.

This is my favorite find, I was looking for a way to have fresh herbs in the kitchen window and I found this for 4.99 @ GW its actually a candle holder that would hang on the wall it has the round pieces of metal that flap down that hold the pots. It will be nice to have Basil and Parsley at my finger tips.

Here is the Rooster after he got a white waxing!

And this guy is trying out the Easter basket decoration , crazy lil guy!

I also picked up this bag of raffia at the $ Tree, they had all colors...I will use this for Easter décor.

So what have you found on your Thrift store adventures? Thrifting is a fun way to spend the day
Thanks so much for stopping in and you have a wonderful day!

A GREAT WAY TO SPEND A HOT SUMMER DAY THRIFTING!

A Saturday scanning for thrifted treasures.

Hi there, welcome ...schools out, summer is in full swing......it seems to be going by way to fast. I thought  Saturday a thrifting adventure would be fun!  So first I found this huge clock only4.99 Love the way it looks hanging in the seaside kitchen.
I spied this copper shell and knew it was a must have at 1.99

I sure was not leaving without this  wooden rowboat, it paired well with a recent sign I crafted , "Seaside Boat Rentals".

I tucked it in the wrought iron basket with some white lights for whimsy.

I also came across this shiny ceramic shell type bowl for .99

I cant think of a better way to have fun on a hot summer day! The best thing to do when you are thrifting is to set a budget for yourself stick to it to avoid overspending. I know things have a cheap ticket price but that can add up if you are not careful, then there's the unexpected thrift store find. I'm sure you can all relate to that , its when you find something you will not leave behind problem being it cost a fortune. For me when I found my vintage refridgerator I was not leaving the store without it! So after some sweet talking to my daughter who has a truck and Mr. STNSA  I explained to him what a good investment I did leave the store with it. The most important thing about thrifting is that you have fun!

                                                       Until next time,
                                                            Lisa
