The Cutest Easy To Make lil Flags

 Welcome!  Soon our country will be celebrating 250 yrs. ! Every summer i usually decorate in red , white and blue at least one room. This year I have a bit all over. I found these super cute flags to craft  as i was visiting Antique Farmhouse online shopping.  

I thought, how cute and wow I could make these. So this was my inspiration.  They can be either sewn or hot glued.  I did sew them but just as easy with hot glue. 

This is a list of items you will need:

Some white, off white fabric, i used some left over fabric painters dropcloth.

Some red fabric or ribbon

Some blue fabric, I used an old pair of jeans, ( my son won't even know they are gone lol.

If you are a beginner at sewing no problem.  You will start by cutting your white fabric to your desired size, mine are around 10 in.  Then just a simple stitching or gluing to one side so a stick can be inserted. There's no special way its whatever way you like, cut a blue square for the left hand corner, I then simply traced around a star cookie cutter with a scrap of white fabric Attach, then glue  or sew the red stripes, be sure they are thin. And its that simple. 

I wanted mine to look a bit vintage so I soaked them in a bucket of tea to stain them a bit.

I dried them flat on a towel. And this is the finished flags

They are much darker than the photo. But so cute. I used just some shshcabob sticks .they look nice in a pot with flowers or on their own in a pretty vessel. 

Some may say i copy cated, but it was just inspiration.go ahead and make yourselves some of these festive flags, its relaxing and a fun project.

Curtains sewn in about a day...

 Welcome, let's talk curtains! Wow couldn't really find anything that I truly liked. And that whole bit about curtains being sold as one panel is totally ridiculous.  I needed 2 curtains, 50in. Wide, 63 in. Long. I found these, very farmhouse but very skimpy.

Pretty but no headers or ruffles.  So I got my sewing machine out a couple of painters fabric dropcloths and got to mea d during and sewing. After the painters cloths are laundered they become very soft. 

So I  basically sewed the same style as the store set but added headers and ruffles and a much more chunkier version. Painters cloths are so nice to sew with.

The valances are sewn to the panels. Just a simple loose ruffle. I believe this project could be done easily as long as you have a sewing machine, measuring tape and some patience.

Delightful Crumb cake recipe, company worthy.

 Welcome...nice of you to stop by. Wish I could give everyone a slice of this delicious cake.  If your like me you may have friends stopping by . This recipe is perfect, easy to prepare. And the best part you can prepare it in a jiffy. So put on your coffee pot and get a move on

The recipe book is very old, I've been baking this over 20 yrs. So don't mind the well used recipe page. The only thing different I do is add cinnamon to the crumb mixture. 

                   A perfect sweet to serve to your friends and family.

A SUMMER OF RED WHITE& BLUE

 Welcome! I so look forward to decorating for summer. Summer here in SW Florida is a scorcher ! The sweet Tea flows non stop along with the ac.  I love the red whites and blues for summer. So I've added some patriotic love here and there. 

Most items I had on hand such as the red wooden beads, small flags bought at Walmart, red geraniums my favorite.  

Shop your house, you'd be surprised the red items you'll come up with.  The red beads are wooden and are used quite a bit, valentines, christmas and patriotic decor.
