What can be more welcoming than a pretty wreath on your door?

Hi and welcome so nice of you to stop in!  Love this upcoming season how about you? The decorating ,the baking the pure enjoyment of celebration. To me sitting around the table with friends and family is always a celebration.  Speaking of decorating ….a beautiful wreath is such a great way to greet visitors as they arrive and you know that feeling when you pull up in your driveway and see your wreath so pretty you cant help to smile even on a dreary day!

The history story about wreaths goes back hundreds of years  meanings are symbolized in many different ways . The round shape is a symbol of eternity seeing that a wreath has no beginning and no end . In a religious stand point  it is thought of as a circle of life . Most commonly amongst us in history people would make them from evergreens and twigs, pinecones and they would hang them and keep them hung through the worst winters to symbolize strength as they wait for spring.

Maybe today we  just love the beauty and we make them out of so many things today I am sharing a wreath that is made from a wire base and rag strips of homespun material embellished with some beaded faux corn dried husks and burlap. An easy wreath that can be made  lets take a look...…

The wreath is 20 in round and is best on a door that has a covered area above

I also added some  wired burlap leaves

This wreath is one of a kind  and it can be yours for 20 $ local or 30$ delivered to you in the USA if you are interested please contact me @ lisaconforto60@yahoo.com    perhaps you can create a pretty wreath  for your farmhouse door?  A rag wreath to me is like making something from nothing with just torn homespun fabric a wire ring and some embellishments you can create something wonderful!

A New Home For A Very Old Window

Welcome.....How many of you Farm house Vintage /country lovers have old vintage windows that you use in your décor? I have always wanted vintage windows but where I live they are not accessible until the Vintage Fair that I attended that is , yesterday I shared A window that has all the chippiness that any vintage lover would  love. Not everyone can relate to the vintage love some find it just plain all junk.

The window I am sharing today is very large so I tried different ideas in my mind until I decided that my fireplace would be the lucky one . First I gently gave it a good cleaning, I covered the back side with a piece of unique color of green .

I really want to add more pops of red So I incorporated red into the wreath and rag garland. I also painted my wooden candleholders red.

I also picked up some of the spiral springs to incorporate into a garland and maybe someday candleholders

Now I have to see where else I can pop a bit of red !

Until next time ........Lisa

A VINTAGE FAIR & A SPECIAL FIND

Welcome!  Its been busy here but I just have to share my day trip with you all. Yesterday there was a vintage fair at the fairgrounds so I knew I would not miss that for anything, and I have to say if you have a love for vintage Farm house style you really must go, it was the most fun ever! their were 70 + venders selling furniture, paint, all kinds of vintage articles and handmade treasures. It really was fun.

When I left here I already had my buying agenda in place, vintage windows, the real deal anything I could incorporate into my décor. There was a live band and plenty of foods from different parts of the world. It was better than being a kid in a candy shop!  I saw some very cool ideas as well as things, I came across a vender that had many vintage things and he had just what I was looking for and his prices were great. I could not wait until morning to decorate the  pieces I found so here is one of the  Farm house  windows that I decided to use in the kitchen. I just have a simple window so this window fit perfectly over it.

You would have to laugh at my kids......they don't understand the farm house décor so to them this stuff looks like Pure junk as my teenage son put it  lol . This window has just the right amount of chippyness!

I had this glass knob that I attached for some window jewelry.

This morning I started making the rag wreath one for this window and one for the much bigger window I decided to use on the fireplace. for this one I used lace some of the purple pattered material also some white. In these pictures night is just falling...

I cant help to wonder if this window could talk it would have some wonderful farm house stories!

And of course just had to add white lights for enchantment!

Thanks so much for stopping in  next time I will be sharing the bigger window that I have married with my fireplace!

Add a little color ........it's summer for goodness sake!

Hi there........come on in, its been raining here so I think our tropical rainy season is here to stay , for a while anyway. That means many hours to craft ,sew and cook.

You know when you have a piece of décor and its just looking dull and old and you just want to retire it to the storage shelf....well that's what happened here. I have this old wooden type frame with a chicken wire back , you've seen it before various places and you may recognize it. So I gave it a lick of a color dry wash and crafted a pretty rag wreath to hang on the front of it

This coloring is on my favorite list!  How about you, what color are you brushing on these days?
You gotta love the .50 sample s at home Depot
To make the wreath just cur the round hoop from a plastic container This one is from ice cream.
Just tear something up this happened to be a retired bathrobe and T shirt, so now you will tie the strips of material onto the plastic hoop.
And there you have it a new look for an old friend and a wreath that did not cost any money!

I will be using this piece in my hallway after I paint it. So go and scan your treasures and take them out of hiding and repurpose and redo.

                                                           Thanks so much for visiting!

NOTHING WELCOMES A NEW SEASON BETTER THAN A DIY WREATH UPON YOUR DOOR!

Hi there, happy Fall! Seems like it was just yesterday we were saying bye to Fall...the seasons pass way too quickly so we must enjoy them while they are here! I don't think there is any better way to welcome a season and family and friends than a pretty wreath....even prettier if you make it yourself. It just shows the love you put out there for your home and friends and family. Its like the cherry on the cupcake !  I have been busy making a number of wreaths. Front door, side door , back door and the front iron gate. The wreath I am sharing today is on the kitchen door from the lanai. It is a steel door like most in these parts I guess due to the humidity etc...  I keep all the basic grapevine wreaths and just give them a spray with some Pledge before decorating.

The base is a grapevine wreath , homespun material was ripped and knotted all around and some earthy type pieces from my flower stash were attached.

If you notice the wreath hanger that is not so pretty but great for glass and mirrors working by a suction cup, making hanging a wreath easy just about anywhere. They were purchased from QVC a few years back.

I took a thin board and covered it with burlap and stenciled Fall and added a wire ribbon to accompany the wreath. Have you hung a wreath yet? Wreaths are so forgiving they look wonderful what ever way you want to design them! Thanks so much for dropping on in today!

WELCOME TO THE FALL HAPPENING TOUR PART 1 !

Hi friends , so happy share Sweet Tea N' Salty Airs Autumn celebration. Well what are you waiting for.......come on in through the screen door and let my home give you a big warm Autumn hug!

I have been working with allot of brown paper bags once again! Here I crafted a sign to go with the fall theme. And that bag of  "Leaves" are also crafted from brown grocers bag. Here in Florida we don't have those beautiful vibrantly hued maple leaves, darn! So I had to compromise a bit A rag wreath hangs on the screen door and my moms old rake leans in the corner.

So I cut some out of you guessed....brown bags.
I took some craft paint and made a watered down red stain.
Dipped them in and crinkled them and your not going to believe it I put them in the clothes dryer. Shhhh don't tell Mr. STNSA he he he.
As close as Im going to get as real.
Remember that Bag , hes a pumpkin! I painted it white and surrounded it with some blocks I crafted saying Fall. I used a balloon and just molded the damp paper over it. After it dried I painted a crow.
