PLAYHOUSE INTO POTTING SHANTY.....Welcome!

Hi there.... happy you could take a visit! So my  son & his wife built a really nice big playhouse for their daughter for Christmas a couple of years ago  complete with a shingled roof . Well they moved on into their own place and no longer needed it. Well my mind got to thinking that if I lifted the roof and added walls I could actually use this as a potting shed. Mr. STNSA would have to lend a helping hand with this project and that he did. I pulled all my resources together wood, screws, paint etc. This is what it looked like before

This is how it started out we added posts to raise the roof , then added wooden walls......The screen door I made some time ago just there for decorative purposes.
 Well come on in......
This is the front side I planted some hearty wandering jews  made a wreath and sign, I have to say this is one of the most fun makeovers yet! The front I left open  , love to decorate old garden tools

I made a little stone walkway and a banner and see that little round table thing that the basket is on that is actually a cooler the top lifts up and it will be great for throwing some ice in and keeping some cold beverages for the hot summer days

I added some pockets to the banner just for fun to hold flowers

This is the inside all equipped with everything I will need for gardening, Last season we did a salad bowl garden so we could pick fresh salad vegetables every night for dinner
Everything is hung for easy access and the shelves hold all the pots and things. I added some stenciling for fun
These are Mexican petunias they pretty much thrive anyplace you put them everyday they bloom purple flowers and are considered an invasive plant here in Fla.  I don't care what they say I love them!

One big shelf for potting plants
I love to hang herbs  to dry its the perfect place

I am happy we  did not take it down and repurposed it into such a useful place. Its great I have the garden hose to the left and the floor is pressure treated planks so they can be just sprayed off when needed.

Have you begun to plan out for Spring gardening yet ?

Thanks for visiting

Spring mulching, planting and decorating

Hi there nice of you to stop by! Well the Spring work continues after doing the screen room that I shared on my last post I tackled the covered outdoor sitting area and the large bed that sits along side; I made a sign and used my vintage shutter in the décor. Love to offer you a sweet tea ! lets take a look.........

I have 3 of these lined up on the posts walkway

I added a wreath and rag garland to the shutter which I attached to the iron railing

In my front garden I have all purple and green and many herbs mixed in with the flowers.

This is a screen door I made that is propped up on the porch

now its time to move on to the back yard and planting shanty!

Thanks so much !

Painting, mulching, planting and decorating to welcome Spring!

Hi there welcome to Sweet Tea N' Salty Air so happy you stopped on in . I have been sprucing up for Spring, I painted all the concrete in the screened in porch as well the outer covered area. I went through 15 bags of red mulch between the front flower bed and the back yard lounging area. Today I am going to share the screened in porch where everything has to be wash and wear and can be packed up with little notice just in case of tornado or hurricane weather. The porch has to also be fishing pole/bathing suit and sand friendly. I chose a deep greyish brown color for the cement floor. White blinds and Tricycle red for the furniture. Most of all I want it to be a welcome fun place for all to enjoy!

This is the backdoor entrance I hung a tobacco ladder to display some of grams doilies she made along with my cow picture inspiration from Pier 1 and of course lots of white lights

I have a slew og paint can lids that I save so I made some coasters
I hand painted this sign to add some fun And the bit about fishtales so true I hear them all the time

I set up a smoothie station , we love smoothies and drink them all the time.....banana, strawberry and my all time favorite Mango. This will serve as a place to pull up a stool and have a little lunch or to spread a buffet as well and even fry fish I will not fry it in the house if you know what I mean.

The backdrop is an old Farm house screen and I crafted a rag garland to attach. Lots of color!

This cute little vintage step end table was just given to me last week it was just the bare brown wood so I gave it a lick of the red paint.

Right outside the screen is a garden of flowers including bird of Paradise

This porch will be used a lot during the summer seeing that we live a skip away from the water which brings tons of huge mosquitos . Hope you enjoyed the Spring fun and if your not Springing it up in your area don't worry the cold weather will be gone before you know it.

Thanks for joining me today!

A New Home For A Very Old Window

Welcome.....How many of you Farm house Vintage /country lovers have old vintage windows that you use in your décor? I have always wanted vintage windows but where I live they are not accessible until the Vintage Fair that I attended that is , yesterday I shared A window that has all the chippiness that any vintage lover would  love. Not everyone can relate to the vintage love some find it just plain all junk.

The window I am sharing today is very large so I tried different ideas in my mind until I decided that my fireplace would be the lucky one . First I gently gave it a good cleaning, I covered the back side with a piece of unique color of green .

I really want to add more pops of red So I incorporated red into the wreath and rag garland. I also painted my wooden candleholders red.

I also picked up some of the spiral springs to incorporate into a garland and maybe someday candleholders

Now I have to see where else I can pop a bit of red !

Until next time ........Lisa
