I NEEDED JUST A LITTLE MAKESHIFT OFFICE SPACE THAT WOULD LEND SOME QUIET & PRIVACY

Hello there, have you ever needed a quiet place to write and use the computer without having to hear "I'm Hungry", "Im thirsty" or so and so is being mean?  My office is central and anyone can get at me if they like and  sometime I just need some privacy , it may be a phone call or it may be that I'm writing on a deadline as I do daily .   No one but no one can scoop me up here!

A locked door and a makeshift "closet office", no painting, can be taken down in about 5 minutes and theres even a flat screen TVin there. The theme is Red, White and Blue. I have this huge flag that was given to me and it was just on the shelf folded up until today that is. The closet was a typical closet with a top shelf and a clothes hanging pole. With my staple gun I fit it in place and it actually covered the interior of the closet perfectly, I pouffed the top And draped it on both sides using my handy staple gun....no nails so no damage to walls or the flag. The whole closet wall is covered just like wallpaper only loosely with material. Why waste the space when it could be utilized!

Everything I need Desk, chair, filing, computer !

I hung a string of white lights around the perimeter just for fun! An old red school house chair will serve as a seat.

HERBS AND FOWERS PLANTED TOGETHER AND DOING WELL!

Hi there! nice of you to stop by. I took a big chance and waited a while before I shared this garden do!  But so far so good. I had already shared my front flower bed filled with different colorful flowers but I decided to add some wonderful herbs in between some of the plants

Basil, my most utilized herb in the kitchen. There is nothing better than a fresh steaming pot of Tomato sauce simmering on the stove filled with tons of meatballs and the fragrant scent of basil roaming your home. Herbs have many beneficial properties that aide in good health.

Dill, a wonderful scent like no other which I use to make pickles and salad dressings. I also use it when cooking fish.

Parsley, another kitchen favorite, I use parsley in almost everything I cook as well as garnish on summer potato salads, macaroni salads etc. Parsley has many health benefits and next time you need to freshen your breath chew on a bit of fresh parsley!

Spearmint, This is a favorite I use it in Sweet Tea all day! Great with Lamb and lemonades etc. The aroma of fresh Spearmint can not be beat!

The biggest reason I choose putting the Herbs in this area was that their is a watering system within so I don't have to worry about that part of it.  So don't hesitate to plant your Herbs with your flowers it works well and looks lovely!   Thanks for stopping by!

NEW LIFE FOR AN UGLY METAL SHED DOOR!

Hi there welcome! I finally painted that very ugly shed door! Yikes, it was a real eyesore.
This is the door on our metal back yard shed, I didn't take a before photo but it was just metal and scary looking.

I sanded the metal down and then used a primer before painting. I also crafted a wreath to decorate it.

If you have that door from h*** try some paint. I added some painted hinges and some shading . Thank you so much for visiting!

A STRIPPED WALKWAY AND AN ANDIRONDACK CHAIR REDO!

Hi there welcome to Sweet Tea N' Salty Air! So glad you stopped by so I can share my projects with you and perhaps offer a bit of inspiration. Todays project couldn't be done without the aide of painters tape. If you remember last week I painted the lounge port a mild grey?  I just needed to add some color so with the aide of blue painters tape I added a colorful walkway absolutely skid proof.

When I mixed up the three colors I simply added some baking soda to make it skid proof and it really works.

I also gave the Adirondack chairs a wash of Blue color and some stripes.

These wooden Adirondack chairs were a road side rescue.

Well I have to see what kind of trouble I can get into today , thinking about giving the back shed door a little makeover today!  Thankyou for joining me today!

WELCOME TO SWEET TEA N' SALTY AIR EASTER TOUR!

Hi there, so very nice of you to stop by! Today I want to share some Easter around the house. Decorating does not have to be expensive, all of this decorating was done with plastic eggs that we speckle painted, old book pages we cut into strips for Easter grass and old pieces I have around the house I also had a piece of fabric that fit the Easter bill so I cut it into bows etc. My favorite is a bunny handkerchief that was my mom's when she was a child. Just a little imagination is all you need.

A wooden egg box I bought some time ago holds an antique egg dish some Easter grass and some speckled eggs.
Natalie and I gave our wooden bunny a new look with some paint a bow and a cotton tail.
A little bird makes a nest on some burlap.
Some antique books get wrapped in a pretty Easter bow.
My grandma's teacup holds a little nest.
Adding some Easter colored glass such as greens and purples adds some interest. You see the collection of baskets hanging from the wooden beam?, those are put there before Easter you see, the Bunny takes them down on Easter Eve and fills them with candy and prizes for the good kids.

The kitchen counter has a touch of Easter with an old scale and bunny and carrot made from a brown sack.
Little wooden bunny sits aside a little nest on the kitchen window shelf.
Here is mom's old handkerchief , I have it draped on the side of a hanging wrought iron kitchen basket.
I found these 2 little egg holders at a thrift store they are hand painted from Mexico and vey old.
This pedestal  holds a nest in the center of the table in between the 2 egg holders.

Thank you so much for stopping by today it was wonderful having you visit!

I HAVE EASTER CHICKS SWINGING AT MY HOUSE! REALLY

Happy Sunday to you! Been keeping the busy up.....Easter crafts for decorating, grilling and a cake! Not to mention the everyday cleaning and laundry. Saturday is outing day for us, we thrifted a bit and saw the latest movie Noah, spectacular film! I would recommend it to everyone.

Natalie and I did some paper bag crafting today, I am so amazed at what a brown paper bag can turn into. Keep in mind todays craft used 1 brown paper bag , paint, a stray piece of wood, some burlap and craps of material.

We cut out the chicks , then wings and beaks, painted them.
We took a scrap of wood and turned it into a swing that we covered with burlap and hung it onto the fireplace.
This little guy is trying to hop on if only the swing would stop moving! Brown paper is so versatile and could be shaped when damp.
Some chicks are holding on to some of the speckled eggs we painted.
Some have their little legs hanging off the swing.

We used material attached to the wood to hold the swing up. This is a wonderful craft to do with the family, lots of fun seeing the chicks come to "life".

The children can paint the pieces very easily , brown paper takes to paint well too!

Hope you will try an Easter craft with little ones, thanks so much for visiting Sweet Tea N' Salty Air

A CRUMB CAKE RECIPE EASY AND PERFECT FOR EASTER BRUNCH or ANYDAY!

Good morning to you! We have an overcast day here in Southwest Florida so it may rain but that's perfect for my new garden plants. I usually make big brunch type breakfasts on Saturdays seeing that everyone is at leisure today. I try to pull out my favorite cook books that contain my tried and best recipes. One of my favorite Cook books is

This is a compilation of some wonderful recipes
from the woman of the St. Peter Apostle Catholic Church here in Naples Florida. These good ole girls know their stuff because everything that I have tried has been wonderful. This recipe "Crumb cake" I would rate a 10 on a scale of 1-10.
Moist and delicious, perfect company with an egg dish.
I follow this recipe exactly which is very important with crumb cake.
The only thing that I have changed up with this recipe is that I glaze the top with a simple
about 1/2 c. butter or margarine softened, 3/4 cup confectioners sugar, 1 teas. vanilla and a slash of milk or 1/2 & 1/2. Whip up and drizzle the top of the cake once it is cooled. Just a warning you better hide it until your ready to serve it up !
The recipe is very easy.
See what I mean , when I was getting my camera ready and came back someone mysteriously took a piece. Thanks so much for joining me today hope you try this delicious easy recipe!
