WELCOME TO THE REVEAL OF THE REPURPOSED FARMHOUSE TABLE!

Image
Hi there I hope this post finds you warm and cozy if you have been dealing with all that snow and if your seaside sipping Pina Coladas soaking up the Suns rays enjoy your day! Where ever you are visiting from I certainly enjoy your visit!

OKkkkk, So a few years ago I picked up this farm house table , its been painted a couple of times and used a lot ...well I have this wall that is in the entrance way from the screen porch  that I was looking to utilize a bit better. I did have the entertainment center made to a kitchen center there but have moved that into the dining room.

So to start with I measured the kitchen counter at 24"   so we cut the table at 23 " and the overlap we used as a backsplash.

I am loving this new space and it is totally very handy...wondering why you see a water knob?
I decided to have a dry sink and I thought these knobs would be cute. So what's a dry sink you ask? If you are keen on antiques you will know if you are an older sole you'll…

SHED A LITTLE BARN LIGHT ON THE SUBJECT!

Image
Hi there so glad you drop on in ! I have been working on adding some lighting that I like. I have mentioned before that Mr. STNSA is an Electrician. So when he does some jobs and there are lights he takes out and usually tosses them out or brings them to me.

He took out this barn light ,it was an awful light pink color no wonder they wanted to toss it out. But with a lick of paint I fixed her up .I took the existing wires out and replaced it with guts from a plug in light so I did not have to wire it in just plugged it in and presto.

 A wonderful bright light!
I used a grey with some red wear .

The kitchen window never renders any good lighting because of the porch.

It is so much brighter and better for kitchen duties!  Love the concentrated light that the barn design brings. Thrift stores are a wonderful resource for lighting and don't forget most lighting can be restyled and painted to your liking.

PINE BOARDS MADE INTO A VINTAGE FARM INSPIRED BARN WINDOW

Image
Hi there.......gotta say it is cold out side, just came in and it is in the 40's ......autttttt, no laughing okay know what your thinking I should not complain cause where you are its perhaps 10 or 20 degrees and your yard has a blanket of snow right? Hey I'm a Northern girl and I know freezing temps only too well . Before I came to Florida I lived in Vermont....now that's some cold weather. I do love cold weather though its just inconvenient . I just put in Petunias in my front garden . I will cover them with a special stash of old sheets that I use every winter to cover the plants.     Anyway I had some planks of pine scrap sitting idle so I thought I would make a faux vintage inspired barn window. I split the pieces and constructed a window .
I used chicken wire for the back.
With an uncut plank I added a shelf
I bought the rooster wood carving from Goodwill , it was a gold color. My first intention was to paint it black but after I tried the deep red I decided to ke…

Changing this...changing that, something old and something new thats what we bloggers do!

Happy day to you, thank you for stopping in today. We are having severe storms today which is very odd for this time of year...usually it is the perfect weather that all the vacationers that come to sw Florida seek. Warm days and cool evenings, some evenings are very cool I have seen 35 degrees last winter. I have some Petunias sitting idle since last Saturday . Poor things they thought they were going to a rich soil garden where they could thrive and grow but........bad weather has them sitting and just waiting. Maybe tomorrow?

Anyway I took down all the Christmas and rearranged with some old stuff and some new stuff. Love this milk can a great find at Tuesday morning. It was designed to look vintage and I think the maker did achieve that. It's colors are bright and it's a perfect place to store all of my wax potpourri. I just love the different scented waxes , I never am without them. I use the plug in wax burners they provide such wonderful aroma through out.

Image
Welcome to you , so happy you could stop on in today! I don't know about you but I have burned ruined so many stove burner covers , I especially liked the latest ones......but that's in the past.

 They were so pretty though!
But now they have taken a new lease on covering burners.......With a coat or two of chalk paint they are nice once again!

Now I can leave messages where everyone will be sure to see them....maybe  even I will stencil them a bit. I came very close to buying some new ones but I am glad I didn't ! So don't throw them away give them a redo!
