WELCOME TO THE FALL HAPPENING TOUR PART 1 !

Hi friends , so happy share Sweet Tea N' Salty Airs Autumn celebration. Well what are you waiting for.......come on in through the screen door and let my home give you a big warm Autumn hug!

I have been working with allot of brown paper bags once again! Here I crafted a sign to go with the fall theme. And that bag of  "Leaves" are also crafted from brown grocers bag. Here in Florida we don't have those beautiful vibrantly hued maple leaves, darn! So I had to compromise a bit A rag wreath hangs on the screen door and my moms old rake leans in the corner.

So I cut some out of you guessed....brown bags.
I took some craft paint and made a watered down red stain.
Dipped them in and crinkled them and your not going to believe it I put them in the clothes dryer. Shhhh don't tell Mr. STNSA he he he.
As close as Im going to get as real.
Remember that Bag , hes a pumpkin! I painted it white and surrounded it with some blocks I crafted saying Fall. I used a balloon and just molded the damp paper over it. After it dried I painted a crow.

Of course I am crafting some paper bag things , guess what those red  circular cutouts are?

Between a balloon and a brown paper bag I know you know what this is.
I have even let the roosters out of the coop to celebrate Fall!

PUMP"CANS" GALORE MADE FROM MY CRAFT STASH!

Hi there so happy you stopped by to see my shabby "Something from nothing" Pump"Cans". I just love making something from nothing! How about you? Are you the type to spend a fortune at the local craft store or use the resources that you have on hand? Don't get me wrong I spend at the craft store as well, stencils, paints materials, glue sticks etc......But today this craft can be made from things around the house.
These are my tin can Pumpcans! A craft easy as pie and the little ones can help too!
This is Mo, he insisted on being in this photo shoot.

One things for sure I have all my ducks  Pumpcans in a row!

This is all the supplies you will need  for this craft, old big or little cans or even plastic containers, elastic bands, cording , material or even old clothes, I used Mr. Sweet Teas Nike tee he never wore because he didn't want to look like a pumpkin. Paper bags and paint if you like. I made some orange , the kids in the house can't accept white or any other color but orange.
The procedure is simple cut enough material place can in center and just bunch the material and tie tight with rubber band. Cut some bag for the stem and just wrap around the bunched up material and rubber band with the paper bag using wet hands , brown paper works best that way for molding. Cut some leaves out , you can trace your childs hand for the leaves. Then just hot glue the leave on.
I took some green cording and sprayed it with a bit of hairspray and wound it on a wooden spoon so the vine would look curled. You can add a face or not.
I made this pumpkin with décor in mind.

Hope I have inspired you to maybe get your family together and make some of these Pump "Cans"! Thanks so much it has been wonderful having you!

You can make your old vintage canning jars and muffin tins so pretty!

Hi there welcome to Sweet Tea N' Salty Air. so nice you could stop by! I recently found some vintage canning jars and some other things such as muffin tins. So I decided to dress them up a bit! I was careful not to interrupt the operation of closing and opening the jar. This craft can be done with any jars at all!

With a little lick of paint I turned this into a pretty candy jar. I used a light green and then distressed the name of the co. , I made a wee banner that says candy in green and topped it off with some pretty flowers and raffia. I didn't paint the entire jar so the candy could be visible.
The muffin tin got a lick of black paint and I handpainted the light colored pumpkins , a bow and some distressing was all it took.

Country Door Shutters have a new look married with the Fireplace

Welcome so happy your here! I think I have a touch of "Fall" fever, how about you? Today I was looking for a new look for my fireplace. So I decided to incorporate the Beautiful very versatile shutters that I bought from Country Door. Love that place! I've used them on each side of the dining door and now I have them met up with my fireplace. I used a white curtain and attached it to the back of both for a more solid look.
Star Light , Star Bright....love that saying. I am using the shutters as a backdrop. I added some other fun things such as colored glass some old photos .

A galvanized bucket sits front and center with some faux harvest veggies, an unexpected change from flowers.
A vintage  Rebecca of Sunny brook farms for interest.
I made a rag garland to add some fun.

These heavy iron hooks are great , I use them for stockings and as you can see this rag garland. Black and white check runner, If you have not shopped Country Door You should take a peek at their online catalogue . Don't tell your hubbies I suggested that though. Yikes!  Thank you so much for letting me share my new fireplace look, you all know that I am in constant state of evolving lol.

DECORATED VINTAGE TOOL BOX AND THE OPENING OF CountryElfs AT THE ETSY MARKETPLACE

Welcome , I have been doing some thrifting , I picked up this cute greenish, rustish vintage tool box. I just thought it would be great to hold candles, napkins , cookie cutters etc. the list goes on . Rusty and green in it's original state but for home décor I jazzed it up a bit.

I added a pretty stencil and a colorful faux flower arrangement with a pretty raffia and homespun bow.

Maybe long ago this held some tools but now it would be great for displaying cookie cutters or...
or maybe some pretty colored glass.
You may want to scan your tool shed for some treasures. If you like this piece it is available in my new Etsy shop     CountryElfs. Thanks so much for visiting!
