A REAL LOVE STORY HAS NO ENDING.........Valentines , a day to celebrate LOVE!

Welcome to Sweet Tea N' Salty Air's Valentine! Grab a freshly baked "Welcome Home " sugar cookie made by our little Natalie. The recipe is on the back of the Domino sugar back and has become our favorite sugar cookie recipe.

This is a cute little vintage apron that I bought especially for our baker in training. The cookies are crisp on the outside and soft on the inside very delicious. This pretty cup and saucer belonged to my mom. Handpainted roses and a gold trim.

I used another vintage apron for a fireplace bunting, love the scalloped edging and the cute strawberry. I never intended to use as a bunting but it works well.

I used some old coke bottles and placed an Amaryllis flower in each. The chalk blocks I had shown a previous post, but for Valentines I cut out some pink hearts and attached them.

This black and white coloring takes me back in time ..........love black and white.

Just a simple rolling of the apron and a bunting it became.

 

 

Cherries and more cherries!

 

I crafted this table runner from a roll of red burlap off the 90% table at Tuesday Morning. I simply hot glued the edges and attached a burlap bow on both ends.

A simple vase that I fit a sweater sleeve onto. I just surrounded it with my favorite red wooden handled vintage finds.

NEED A LITTLE COLOR TO TAME YOUR WINTER BLUES? TRY CRAFTING A PRETTY WREATH

Hi there......come on in! So glad you stopped in. Winter is really putting the kabbash on many of you. Why not craft a pretty colorful wreath or two to turn your winter blues into spring thoughts! One thing is I sure am glad I can knock out a huge rooms paint job in about 5 hours cause you know me I tire of things quick and that dark living room color just was not working with me anymore so here is the new color

It is Khaki so it will go with everything well. Im loving the brightness of it so happy to rid of the dark walls.

To celebrate I took out my wreath supplies and crafted a little something something for the wall.

I hung the wreath on an old wooden window frame that has a small shelf attached so I placed some colorful glass on it.

 

 

 

Just some sunflowers an old birdhouse and some pretty material.

 

Then I thought that the outside door could use some color so I crafted this

I made this little birdhouse out of a scrap of wood and the cute bird is from $1 Tree. I picked up most of my flowers at Michaels Crafts.

 

I didn't stop there I wanted to fill this faux copper tub up with some décor so I used some ivy leaves I had on hand along with some sunflowers and a pretty dish and some other vintage odds n' ends.

 

 

Arrangements are lovely with flowers and treasured collectables it adds so much interest.

I picked up these cute little sconces for the fireplace at a local thrift store.

Bye bye dark walls!

 

So why not craft you up some spring wreaths for your house? Its easy just get a color scheme and 2 or 3 different size flowers , a wreath of your choice some ribbon or material and have some fun! oh so you  say your not handy like that? A LITTLE WINTER WHITE MAKEOVER FOR THE BAKING CENTER AND A CRAFTED SIGN FOR THE SOUP MAKER IN ME!

Hi and welcome! I am on a "white" rampage. Loving all the furniture brightness. As you may recall I bought a preowned entertainment center and made it my baking /storage center. I bought it a green color with a distressed finish.

COFFEE TABLE & END TABLE GET A WINTER MAKEOVER

Welcome to you! Hope that everyone is keeping warm. Here in the deep south we are having some chilly weather and some bad winds. I have to keep going out doors to gather all the tree scraps that keep falling oh how I love palm trees ......not truth is I don't really like them at all.

My last post I shared some winter makeover for my very old cabinet. I have given the coffee table and end table a lick of the same "Vanilla Ice " paint that I used on the cabinet.

 Unlike my recent cabinet redo I did decide to distress both of these pieces. I used a scraper to distress instead of sandpaper this works better for me. I added some new glass pulls. I love this end table because it has storage on the bottom, great for magazines.

The coffee table has been her and there like the last place was the lodge room porch. I replaced it with a wicker one for the porch. Love the pineapple legs !

The brown blind behind the couch is actually a bamboo carpet that I stained darker. I hung it with curtain ring hooks.

 Hung a rag garland and added a glass knob.

Can you tell I love roosters? Roosters , chickens , cows and checks?

Oh my....hope I don't get carried away with the whites of paint! I get bored really easy with décor but I guess that's what this is all about changing and changing every day! Thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy day and hanging out here at Sweet Tea N' Salty Air for a while!

OLD TIRED CUPBOARD GETS A WHITE WINTER BRIGHT LICK OF PAINT!

Hi there, welcome to Sweet Tea N' Salty Air where the oranges are at the peak of the season and the weather is a bit chilly at times but mostly superbly perfect. I was taking a long hard look at the oldest of oldest darkly painted cupboard and decided it was time for a brighter change. The paint was the best from Home Depot but came from the Opps! counter and that means no name so I like to call it Vanilla Sugar cookie!

 I have shared this old girl a few times , she has a special story to her.....when my son was a teen he used to clean out sheds for extra money.......in his journey he came across this cupboard road side ready for trash pick up, needless to say She was coming home with me. So we cramed it into the car and off I went. notice I said I ? my boy waited at his grams for me to come back and get him because there was no way I was leaving that piece behind. I decided on a complete paintover with no distressing, so what do you think?

 Here she is now, all prettied up! I added some pretty black and white patterned paper to the back. Little Natalie has her Tea Set on the bottom shelf , she enjoys her American girl Tea Parties.

 I simply gathered some of my favorite items and placed them scattered around on the shelves.

 The cupboard has many dings and pings including a missing window where a garden an old woman sits.

 Two Pottery Barn cups stand before a pretty dish that I found at Cracker Barrel.

 Do you have  a piece of tired old furniture just mopping around? Try a lick of paint to give it a new life!   This piece is older than the hills but for sure part of our family! Happy painting! FROM ENTERTAINMENT CENTER TO KITCHEN BAKING CENTER

Welcome and Happy New Year to you!  I have been a busy bee around here.....packing away Christmas decorations and rearranging , fixing etc... Im sure most can relate. Saying bye to Christmas is bittersweet , hate to see it all go but kind of happy to get things cleaned and putting out some new stuff such as this entertainment center. I was gifted a gift card and I have been on the search for an entertainment center that I could turn in to a baking center. After all my new Kitchen Aid mixer deserves a place to call its own seeing that I will be working it to its beaters. The entertainment center would have to be constructed of all wood and the counter would have to be my height. Finally I came across the perfect one!

We decided to decorate the center for the winter season with a strand of winter berries and white lights also some snowflakes. The mixer fits well and the center also came with an electrical power strip so everything could be plugged  in.  

Spatulas, measuring spoons and cooling racks all have a permanent home.

The best part of this center is when I am done using it I can just close the doors.

Spices towels, pans and an extra micro wave oven for melting chocolate, butter etc.

Stainless steel bowls, funnels, loaf pans etc sit on the upper shelf. I do plan on installing a piece of corrian for the counter top.

A tobacco ladder holds kitchen towels.

These cute bottles were a Tuesday Morning find.

 

The fire place gets a winter do over with candles , snowflakes.

Winter branches stand tall on the fire place.

Closed.......I can hide freshly baked treats until I am ready to serve them!
