Time To Cozy Up The Mantle!

 Welcome! Weather is changing.  Time to cozy up your home.  Decorating your mantle and shelves,  tabletops should be what ever you like! If it's farmhouse, cottage, modern or country anything goes. Mix and match what ever you like. Here at Sweet Tea n' Salty Air you will find some farmhouse, cottage and rustic decor.  I've done a bit of decorating a pretty fall mantle.

You will see some of my vintage treasures and some New thrifted treasures.  The light above the fireplace is a plug in barn light that I purchased from temu for under 15$. It's a great addition to the fireplace. So no need to follow  other decorators, it's what you like and  have fun with it!

A Bathroom Do Over farmhouse style

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Welcome! Here at Sweet Tea I am constantly evolving  decor , paint and anything that needs freshening up, with little or no money and utilizing items on hand.  With a lick of paint you can change the look really quick!

 

In this bathroom redo I bought 2 farmhouse style pin up lamps, some inexpensive peel n stick wallpaper  and decor I had on hand. The lamps were a Temu  find under 20$  , well worth it, they work well and very nice looking.

The counter is painted, some scraps of wood around the mirror. Just a simple shop the house , things I had on hand.

These shutters were a gift I received they were bought at Antique Farmhouse

This was a small cabinet I hung on it's side for storing hair products etc.

Thanks for stopping in, paint is the quickest way to transform a space, also paint is very forgiving. You dont like it, change it.

PASTA SAUCE STARTS WITH GARDEN FRESH BASIL

 Hi friends, nice of you to stop by! How many of you make your own pasta sauce? Wether it's marinara or a sauce full of meats , a good pasta sauce starts with fresh grown Basil.

It's really easy to grow, also fast! This basil was ready to use after about 4 weeks. That along with some cans of crushed tomatoes,  fresh garlic, oregano  and extra virgin olive oil.

I like to take the fresh basil leaves crush them with some sea salt in the morter. It releases the oils and terrific aroma as well. 

Adding all the ingredients  and letting it simmer for a couple hours makes a delicious dinner!

Fresh tomatoes can also be used, a great way to use your garden harvest.

Just About Any Piece Of Furniture Can Be Beautiful again!

 Welcome! Nice of you to stop by. How many of you have the old wooden piece of furniture sitting idle in your basement ,garage or attic?

I was in need of just a small cabinet to hold the over flow of canned goods. I looked high and low but almost everything I found was made of synthetic wood and hardly no wood. So I took a look at my stash. My son had this piece many years ago, ugly in its state but I thought I could surely bring this back to life.

First a good cleaning, then a coat of what I call gramas kitchen, a paint I bought at Lowes paint dept. I removed the star. Once the paint was dry I then added a slim coat of my favorite go to paint, Painters Choice semi gloss white. Taking care to let some of the green peek through. 

I had some  shiplap paper on hand that I applied to the door, dressed her up with a rooster stencil and a little wreath I crafted from greenery I had on hand.  

The best part is this is really roomy inside, so it will be great for all the extras.

Why Not Give Your Holiday Tree Some Easter Love!

 Welcome, thankyou for stopping on in today! Easter is swiftly approaching as I have been busy planning decorating and meal plans.  I have added some new Easter decor to mend in with items I have had for years.  I have found some really cute items at Walmart.com. 

Included in these new item are some really pretty farmhouse style eggs for  3.48 a box. It's a mixture of sizes so I have taken the smaller ones and attached ribbon to hang on my small holiday trees. The larger ones I will use for wreaths or bowl fillers which I will share later

So I have 2 trees one in the master bedroom and one in the kitchen and 2 boxes were ample amount for decorating.  I also purchased a pretty lavender wreathand 2 decor bunnies 🐰 inexpensive and oh so cute!

TEMU, a great online shoppery!

 Welcome, so if you have not ordered from Temu you must give it a try. I hear alot of talk saying  the goods are coming from China.  And so......most things are not made in the USA.  This is my 3rd order and they do not disappoint. 

In this order items are, 236 ft of peel n stick, 2 canvas prints, you must frame them as stated in the online store.  A rice washer, a mop head, Ac cute bathroom sign and 2 very well made  plug in  farm house style lights. 33 $ for all.

The package came very well packed.  I am in the process of doing the guest bathroom over so I will be using most of these items in there.  I would highly recommend  visiting Temu. They have just about everything you can think of. It is very important that you carefully read the description  of the items so you don't become disappointed. 

When I have the redo done I will be sharing it.
