Welcome to our Easter!

Happy day ! Nice of you to stop in. Spring is here and with Spring Easter! Love the holiday! I can remember going to church with my family with those Shiney shoes, pretty dress and a cute bonnet , oh my do little ones still do that?  Those are great holiday memories. I was brought up Polish and Italian from New England so we always had the best of both worlds with food. Easter morning is always kielbasa, hardboiled eggs, ham and bobka bread. And I still keep that tradition going with my children. Well hope you enjoy the photos of Easter here at Sweet Tea N' Salty Air

First is Easter in the kitchen, I recently faux painted the counters also added a bit of color to the hutch and wooden shelf storage boxes.

These little bunnies were a dollar store find
Old dishes I painted with little bunnies

The little runner was a Christmas gift along with the apron from my very pro sewer aunt, her work is fabulous!
My cute bunnies along with some fabric covered eggs sit in the hanging iron basket

This cute wheel barrow was a Decor Steals find it holds some carrots that I have crafted along with the sign

The tiny colorful eggs I strung are also from Dollar Tree

Next is my new little butlers pantry, a room where I can frost cakes, peel potatoes, prep foods, and read a cook book or 2. It also holds a drink center that I make coffees, smoothies etc from, it also holds all my table linens, aprons, napkins etc...

Welcome to the dining area,

This sweet sign was given to me by my granddaughter Mia, she is quite the little shopper!

Thankyou so much for stopping by, hoping you will enjoy your day!

Pretty Easter Decor Using Plastic Eggs!

Welcome friends! I'm sure everyone's ready to welcome Spring with open arms. And with Spring comes Easter, such a fun holiday to celebrate with family and friends.

My dear aunt is a pro quilter so she passes all her fabric scraps off to me so I'm always coming up with great ways to use the colorful strips of fabric.

Here you will see that we hot glued the fabric to just regular plastic eggs that can be gotten just about any store cheaply .

After we covered all the eggs I painted some pieces of scrap wood and distressed them as well. Fabric was added to the bottom along with a bit of filler. Faux flowers, greenery and the wonderful colorful Easter eggs were added to make a pretty Easter decor for hanging on the door.

These were alot of fun putting together and lends such pretty pops of colors for the Spring season. Whether you are a sewer with scraps of fabric or have to buy fabric which can be bought inexpensively at Walmart and I recently visited our local dollar Tree and they had an array of rolled fat quarter fabric available. These Will make such a pretty Easter Gift as well!

                                Happy  Crafting!

Baking Bread Is Good For The Sole!

Welcome! Today I needed to sooth the sole so what better way than baking delicious bread. Many may feel intimidated but I promise it's super easy. As long as you have a nice prep area, measuring cups, spoons, a mixer but not required.  I did use my kitchen aide with the doe attachment but somehow felt cheated not doing it by hand so either way works.  I kind of made this recipe my self but it's tried and true.

2 packets of yeast

21/2 cups water

1 1/2 teaspoons of salt

1/4 cup of sugar

4 tablespoons of Olive oil

About 7-8 cups of all purpose Flour

2 bread pans, buttered

I first took about half cup of the water and added the yeast , let it sit for about 5min. Then I simply added all the ingredients. Flour last added little by little. The doe should be sticky but able to handle with floured hands. I simply decided it into 2 pieces,  I did have to knead it very much because the mixer did most of the work. I simply added the does to the greased bread pans, covered and let it rest for about 45 min. It doubled in size and off to the 350 degree oven.

Once the bread was lightly browned I removed from the oven and slathered the top with melted butter. Super delicious! Light airy! One loaf will soon be gone with dinner. This bread is perfect for sandwiches, French toast.

I sure hope you will try this super easy recipe!

                        Happy baking!
