Goodbye Vintage Teal .......Hello Mystique Grey, A kitchen evolving!

Hi and welcome....so happy you could drop in today! Evolving is the key word here at STNSA, I love change but change for some is hard and I do understand that, But changing décor to what you love can be very welcoming. You have achieve the balance of new with welcoming vibes so everyone who enters feel like they just walked into a down home B&B. For all those who follow my kitchen has been on board with the color Vintage Teal. I was thinking time to say goodbye since I found this incredible gallon of paint Dark sleek and owns the name "Mystique Grey" Opps paints never come with names so you really have to give them one. This particular paint is from Home depot and it is outdoor which works perfect for counter tops it will stand up to anything.

This paint is available at Home Depot and if bought off the shelf is 49.99 If you are lucky enough to get a gallon from the Opps Counter it is about 9.00 per gallon. Now for you all that are not familiar with Opps paints its a counter of paints usually near the mixing area that customers maybe had mixed but don't like the end result or it may be a missmixed paint that was not mixed correctly but most big box home stores , Walmart, hardware stores that have paint have Opps paints. And if you too are a blogger or just love to paint something up this is heaven!

So along with the counters and these faux shutters and others items also got a lick of the Mystique Grey, the shutters attached to the window sides are actually some doors off of a vintage cabinet.
I  crafted a small farmhouse garland for a window topper to match the bottom shutter shelf

The paint went on smooth with just one coat and then topped with a durable poly sealer

Also painted the interior of the open cabinets and the beadboard shelf giving that a weathered look.
Spray painted the metal vintage bread box to match
The white vintage style tile peel n stick got a brown glazing

I had an old vintage frame from a broken mirror  that I painted and attached to the open cabinet frames. I decided to hang a winter oil painting on the top open shelf to celebrate the upcoming season.

This will be a better fit for the new kitchen island that I made.
Bye Bye Vintage Teal...……

Have something your tired of looking at? Give it a lick of paint you wont be sorry.  When painting countertops I find that out door paint works wonderful but be sure to seal it with polyurethane so that it will be timeless.

Thanks so much for visiting here at STNSA where everyone is made to feel at home.
                                                                                     Lisa
