A FAUX COTTAGE VINTAGE SCREEN DOOR CRAFTED BY ME!!

Hello and welcome to Sweet Tea N' Salty Air, so happy you stop by today, you may be wondering what I have been up to....... Iv'e been busy in my workshop. I have been scanning the internet for a vintage screen door to add to my lake house room. I just love the way they look all decorated. I came close to ordering one from Country Door, one of my favorite places to go completely out of control shop. I got to thinking that I could make my own out of scraps of wood and a broken wooden Adirondack chair. So I got busy in my back workshop using my new jig saw. It was a full day project but well worth it.

I propped it up in a corner area. I made it a bit small so it would fit well in the room.

I used the stencil vinyl spakieling method as I did on my kitchen cabinets.
I gave it a coat of black paint and stapled on new black screening that I had from the rescreening of the porch.

I then painted grey on here and there and while the paint was stick tacky I used a scraper to give a chippy worn look

I had some hardware in my tools so I attached a pull and some hinges.

I almost wish I had a real doorway to actually place it for real.

I added some red ,white and blues for the holiday . This was a fairly easy project seeing that it was just straight line cutting. I think I may be ready to try one for my kitchen door that actually will be a working one

Thank you so much for stopping by, see you latter alligator!
