Some kitchen Christmas and a decorated Potting shanty

Hello and welcome , I have been busy decking the halls, how about you?   Pretty much alone seeing that everyone scatters like mice when I say the word  DECORATE!  That's ok cause there will be no more baking until these halls are decked out. I have several areas to do such as the front of the house, the side porch , the landing to the kitchen entrance and here today I  am sharing my Potting Shanty , I never  was able to share it before, we ended up having  Hurricane Irma , funny thing it was not destroyed just tipped over . This potting shed  is a playhouse gone potting shanty, we just lifted the roof  and did some added wooden features. My son originally built it for his daughter a couple of Christmases ago.

I have shared my vintage breadbox a few times seeing that I love to decorate it for the holidays. It is all decked out for Christmas!  Well grab a beverage and lets take a peek.....

I crafted this little snowball sign .....Styrofoam balls for snow

I was lucky to find these very  heavy mercury balls originally from Pottery Barn  my thrift store price 1.99 I decided to display them in a muffin tin that I had dry brushed a cream color.

My baking area is ready , I used a screen door that I crafted and put lights behind the screen door.
I found these corrugated animals at Hobby Lobby in the clearance section they were under 2.00 each they are so cute

This is my Potting shanty in the back yard not many will see it but those who do will smile

Thank you for stopping on in

A FESTIVE HOT BEVERAGE CART THAT EVERYONE CAN HELP THEMSELVES

Hi there happy you stopped by!  Well here we are Thanksgiving 2 more days , I am hosting all the fun as usual. I really don't mind cooking for 2 days its just what I love!Every year I do create a beverage station so everyone can feel free to help themselves to some hot Cocoa , tea or coffee. I usually have 2 coffee pots going one for hot water and one for coffee. We love flavored coffee here so my guests will find some yummy French vanilla coffee and maybe add a candy cane for a yummy mint flavor.

I will be busy tending to the tables and getting food prepped for the table so the beverage station is a help to me as well. I made a sign to go along with the whole theme. Grab a cup and let me show you around!

This is set up in the corner of the dining room and has everything that is needed.I found this very nice plaid paper at Walmart so I am using as a liner when it gets wet and dirty just rip another piece off and throw the soiled one away

The best part is that  the cart has wheels so I can move it if need be.

Happy you could stop on in today, maybe a hot beverage station can help you too host your holidays with ease!
A very Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families!!
Lisa.

A KITCHEN ISLAND MADE FROM PALLET WOOD & A BIT OF IMAGINATION

Hi there.....so very happy you could stop on in. I have been super busy crafting etc. and building. This is such a busy time of the year but exciting and fun especially for me as a blogger. I try to introduce crafts, wood projects etc. for little or no money. A couple of days ago it was time to take out all the Christmas decorations, my kids avoid me that day like I have a terrible catchey flu, no one wants to take part in that job!  Well its done and I have begun to decorate ! Ill be sharing soon.

So my youngest daughter Amanda loves to have a fire pit gathering and we are certainly having some chilly nights so I spotted that she brought home some pallets so I got to thinking wow what could I make so I thought about a kitchen island. So I gathered my tools that included tape measure, electric jig saw, screws, electric screwdriver, some odd pieces of wood I had in my stock pile,  paints and got to work!  I actually used the pallet for all of it except the shelf and a piece of tongue and groove for the front and back.

After the building was done just a few hours I gave the whole thing a black wash which means I used watered down black paint because I wanted to see the wood grain show through seeing I was going for the rustic look.

I then used my favorite seafoam color but put it only on the top and very sparingly. I had this piece of glass from another piece of furniture and it fit well, making it a better surface to clean.
 I stenciled a bit

Added a towel holder that I had forever

Now my daughter is enjoying it at her new place ! now onto my next project!

So happy you stopped on in today, You can have something nice in your home with a little work and imagination for little or no money!

Till next time   happy crafting...................Lisa
