Hello there so happy you stopped by today, I want to share my recent road side trash find. The other evening I was rolling my trash cans to the curb, and I have to say my eyes wander everywhere due to the Bears we have here, I was about 5 feet from one until I realized it and believe me this girl can run when she needs to. Anyway I saw some stuff across the street in a pile so if you know me you know I took what ever I could make something out of. Anyway I picked up a ladder with 3 steps and a paint can ledge, It is very old but in sturdy condition so Natalie and I gave it a coat of some Martha Stewart special collection paint that I had on hand. When it was dry we Sanded in many of the areas to bring out the vintage character that it so much deserved. This is what we started with....
Pretty enough in its original state don't you think?
We chose a light color so that when we sanded all the raised spots they would stand out. I never realized how versatile a ladder could be. I choose to decorate it for the dining room. But I could see it in the living room with some magazines and knick knacks or the kitchen with baking items or serving dishes or maybe the bathroom with towels and baskets of pretty soaps . The decorating with a ladder is endless. I just happened to have these baskets that fit just right on the ladder steps. We made a winter banner from some vintage book pages and some 90% off brown tone snowflakes , even though Christmas is over we still celebrate the Winter season.
The ladder can easily hold all the rolled placemats , glasses, dishes and even a place to hang a couple of pretty dish towels and a slat to keep the s&p shakers.
Couldn't get a good picture of Natalie as she was painting, she is the best painting helper ever and I am not kidding she can do some painting! This is my second ladder that I am painting a while back I did a small table top step ladder. Ladders are indeed handy to have and easy to put away. Thank you so much for letting us share our latest junk. Keep warm and cozy !
Come linky party with me!
