A Farmhouse Living Room Makeover For About 60$

On the curtain rod are round rings with an attached clip making turning these dropclothes into pretty curtains, they can be styled anyway you like and even stenciled if you prefer.
These are Mexican petunias,  they are considered an invasive plant here in SW Florida. I myself love them. They never stop blooming, new purple flowers every single day.

I added a vintage screen to add interest to the windows.

welcome! Nice of you to drop on in. I had been wanting to repaint the livingroom and summer seemed to be the best time. Once Fall arrives the holidays start and its busy sailing after that.

So after scanning Pinterest for some inspiration  I found the perfect color,  Moles Breath by Farrow and Ball. Hmmm it sells for over 100$ a gallon and we all here can't do that. So my friends at our local Home Depot mixed me the color but using Behr premium flat for about 25$ i also bought a double pack of painters cloth canvas for 12.99, these will be the curtains. A stop at Wal-Mart,  I found these cute colorful rag rags that would lend just the right amount  of Boho color.  See where I'm going with all this?I will however be making some colorful pillow covers very soon. So therefore a makeover to freshen a room don't have to cost a fortune. Just a bit of thrifty imagination it can be done.

A fun Seaside Cottage Bathroom

welcome! Happy you could stop on by! Summer is quickly approaching and if you follow along you know that I do up a seaside cottage room every summer. This year I decided to do the guest bathroom which is used alot.  A seaside room isn't entirely false, we live about 10 minutes from the white sanded seaside.

Everything that was used I made or had on hand.
The  walls were painted a seafoam blue that has a real serene calming feeling to it.
Decided to paint the medicine cabinet door.

The kids in the house are loving it...all in good fun. Let the roosters and farm decor rest for the summer.

Thanks so much for dropping on in!
Happy Summer!

SUMMER KITCHEN FUN

Welcome, so happy you could pop in. Hoping everyone is well . If you visit you know that  I love to add fun to my decorating, especially the kitchen. I spend many hours in there, whipping up baked goods, yummy dinners an old favorites polish pickles . We make them many times a a year.

Recently my sweet aunt gifted me a slew of vintage tablecloths, doilies and cloth napkins so I have been having a blast. My theme in the kitchen is fresh Berries, cherries and of course Sweet Tea.

I repainted a piece for the island and scraped it a bit to have the previous colors pop a bit. I added some stenciling for fun.

The curtain and clothes I sewed from a vintage  tablecloth that had rips that I bought from a local thrift.

The berry dishes in back of the stove is a set I bought at our local thrift.

If your wondering whats under cover on the stove, that would be some cinnamon bread and rice Krispy treats. Lucky to have had a big enough piece of the tablecloth to hang on the oven.

So nice having visitors in the kitchen tonight. Stay well friends. Will you have a summer theme in the kitchen? Its all in good fun. Oops you see all my mismatched dishes. We use those for everyday. Those dishes have 3 left to a set but just can't bid them farewell seeing that I once loved them as an entire set.

                             Happy homemaking,

WELCOME TO THE DINING ROOM...

Hello and welcome! I am hoping this post finds everyone feeling healthy. I know that staying secluded from others can be a sad task. We will get though this!

Bisquits and sausage Gravy for brunch today.  Along with some cold tea infused with honey, lemon and mint.

The cool Iced Oatmeal color adds warmth  and openness to the room. Crushing on blue and white what about you?

This cloche was a tractor supply find.

Bought these little breakfast dishes at our local thrift store.

This used to be a faux painted brick design. I did a worn barnwood application that I will share soon.

I know that dining out these days is impossible but who's to say you cant fuss a bit and bring a little fuss in dining.

I hung a mirror, it really is true mirrors do lend  a sense a bit of light openness. T

This makeshift display works as a separator  between the living and dining area.

The chalkboard was made from a 2$ framed are piece painted with chalkpaint and a rag wreath.

The last time you all visited the dining room the walls were painted Black Tea , a color I mixed myself. The backsplash was a faux brick. That's all changed ,the walls are now an Iced Oatmeal paint I mixed myself and the backsplash is now a faux old barnwood look.

Here I am sharing a little brunch consisting of Bisquits and Sausage Gravy , a well respected recipe here in the deep south. Also some Tea served with honey , lemon and mint, simply delicious! You must give it a try.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
          Be safe and healthy!
