Welcome to Sweet Tea N' Salty air.....Last summer I turned the living room into a lake side cottage...this year we are seaside. Really we are we live about 10 minutes from Marco Island, one of the finest vacation islands with the classiest of beaches filled with multi million dollar condos. The other side of me is the Florida Everglades where the wild animals roam such as Alligators, pythons and you name it. We have a few bears that wonder in our yard every now and again though along with snakes, coyote's, panthers. We are waterside but it is the Canal that leads out to the gulf of Mexico...and that has Gators and manatees. Come take a look.......
The crate above was free , fresh corn is packed in them , once the market empties them they are free for the taking . So I thought a fish crate would be in order. After staining it I wrote a little something on it and filled it with a fish net.
I found this wonderful painting at the Dells Thrift Warehouse It is so typical of the everglades where you can see just this as the fishermen unload the stone crab traps.
Fresh summer melons
I painted up some buoys on some scraps of wood and hung a huge painted fish pillow. The 7-Up bottles where also from Dells. They must have been in a ship that sunk years ago seeing that they where filled with dried seaweed. I love the green color of the vintage bottles.
I have a set of these black shell dishes that also has a huge platter to match.
